tips and tricks / Chain and sprocket lube« on: April 16, 2015, 08:46:45 pm »
After running many laps I have found that the best chain lube is Xeramic. It is sold at Appco Racing at Monroe. Not cheap but really good and really saves sprockets.
Another good lube is Agco farm chain lube . Cheaper alternative to Xeramic. Its worth spending cash on quality lube cause clutch sprockets are high. 3

SAE Kart. About the lightest kart there is. Should handle great on Burris treads.

Saw on Bobs that the Rt 68 track owner is having a kart swap meet at Clermont Co. fairgrounds at Owensville March 7th. Hope there's a lot of vendors, beats driving to Dayton. Supposed to be more info on Rt.68 website.

Wanted / Re: Looking for a clutch« on: November 18, 2014, 08:03:04 am »
I'd just get a Max-Torque. Make sure to buy the kind where you can install heavier springs for more stall. All I have extra is a cheap TSC type clutch.
I don't like them cause they are pulling at an idle and you can't change it. Max-Torque is hard to beat and has great customer service. If you have a problem or a clutch question Jim Donavan at Max-Torqye has the answers. 8
tips and tricks / WINTERIZE !!« on: November 09, 2014, 10:11:58 pm »
All y'all know that the new pump gas is no good.
So u can't let it sit all winter in your carb. Turn the gas off then either start and run engine until it dies or get a 10 mm and loosen the bolt that holds the carb bowl on a little to let fuel drain from carb. I always hold the carb bowl against the carb while I do that....keeps gasket in place. Good luck all. P.S. If ya race all winter please disregard above message. 9
Questions and suggestions / Re: Points races, class races, money races???« on: October 03, 2014, 10:41:31 am »
A good idea would be having everyone weighted within 10 lbs or so. Keeps the heavier guys from having to spend a fortune. 4 bathroom scales is all you need.
Spec engine and weights are just things we should have done years ago where I run at Bernie's track. 10
tips and tricks / Re: aluminum flywheel« on: September 21, 2014, 09:25:58 pm »
When you do get an aluminum flywheel be sure to lap it in with valve grinding compound or you'll shear the key. Like I did.
